DENNIS

Her beautiful laugh was the first sound I heard when I opened my eyes. Despite the ache in my head, my lips curled into a smile.

That sound... it was enough to make my day.

I peeked at her as I wondered what she was laughing over. Her back was to me as she sat on the edge of the bed. She was on a phone call. I wondered who she was speaking with, Amie? I couldn't think of anyone that could make her laugh so heartily. Just as my hands reached out to pull her to me, her shoulders shook in a soft laugh. A wince escaped my lips and thankfully, it shut the errant voice up.

And also interrupted Ana's... call.

She turned in my direction. The smile on her face automatically summoned mine back up.
