The intern let out a sigh of relief as she took back the signed waiver. In truth, she had crafted the document herself, and the hospital didn’t actually have any of the policies she had mentioned earlier.

After Yuna had stormed off, the intern looked down at Hayes, lying on the gurney, her heart heavy with sympathy. Seeing the poor kid scared stiff, she gently squeezed his hand to calm him and said in a soft voice, “Your name’s Hayes, right? Don’t be scared. I’m not gonna take too much blood from you.
