Chapter 790

Silas paused mid-action, his hand frozen over a piece of fried chicken, and turned to look at her with a puzzled expression.

"What kind of logic is that? If you want to stare at someone, go home and look at your husband. Why are you looking at me?"

Marguerite didn't blink. "He's dead."

The response caught Silas off guard, and it was clear to Marguerite that the man was momentarily taken aback.

He quickly whipped out his phone and showed her his Facebook QR code.

"Let's be friends, and I'll send you the pics on Facebook."

Marguerite was speechless.

Was this guy for real? Just like that, he was ready to share?

It felt like he was trying to get her contact info on purpose.

Marguerite sensed that Silas had an ulterior motive, yet, contradictorily, she found herself pulling out her phone and adding him as a friend.

His profile picture was a side profile of her daughter, chubby and resembling something out of a western cartoon.

Marguerite couldn't help but chuckle, soon followed by a notification of a money transfer from Silas.

The note attached read: "For medical expenses."

Medical expenses?

"Yesterday, my daughter bit your son. I promised to cover the costs, no less."

Marguerite stiffened a bit, "Actually, it's not necessary. The medical bill wasn't much."

"I don't like owing people anything."
