Chapter 818

Marguerite affectionately ruffled Margot's hair as the waiter swiftly cleared away the previous dishes, politely asking Marguerite if she'd like to order anything else.

Margot beamed, her little face lighting up. "Pretty lady, I want chicken wings! Chicken wings, chicken wings!" she chirped, pointing mischievously at Marguerite. "She's paying!"

The waiter and Marguerite chuckled, but Silas gently tapped Margot on the nose, reminding her, "Margot, it's not polite to let a lady pay."

The little one blinked her big eyes innocently. "But this is Ms. Marguerite's restaurant, Daddy! She won't let you pay!"

Her eyes crinkled into a smile as she quickly turned her face back to Marguerite. "Ms. Marguerite, our names both have 'Marg' in them. Isn't that funny?"

Marguerite looked at the little girl's chubby, cherubic face, feeling her heart melt.

With a playful tweak of her chin, Marguerite laughed, "Yes, what a coincidence. Who named you?"

"No one, I named myself!" Margot declared with the candidness only kids possess, making Marguerite laugh again.
