Bride of the Cursed Alpha (Auren and Lucien)
Chapter 238
Chapter 238
Summer POV
I couldn’t seem to stay away from him. The ache that tugged at the center of my heart was increasing by the day. It felt like my choice to stay away from Brad never existed. Within two weeks he had become my anchor.
But I also knew that he was a dream. Our interaction was temporary. He would never make me his Luna. By now I had come to know that he was the strongest Alpha in the North, just like his father. Probably stronger because he was the son of mated wolves. Whatever was between us would break the moment the trials were over. And then I would escape.
Honestly, my mind was in such turmoil that I had no idea of what was happening. When I was around him, I was so happy and satisfied, and when he wasn’t there, misery became me. I hadn’t slept well in the last few days, but last night I slept like a log. From the looks of it, even Brad slept deeply.
Last night was mind–blowing. Brad gave me more than two orgasms and I felt like I was floating in the air. I woke up with a delicious ache in my body, and a big smile. When I turned my head to the side, I found him sleeping on his stomach with his arm wrapped around me possessively. I couldn’t help staring at him, at the way God had carved him. He was like a Greek God coming alive.
My fingers went to his forehead where I lightly brushed his hair away. He stirred slightly and tightened his hold over me, pulling me closer. I gushed at the warmth swelling inside my chest. No one loved me, and now here he was. Even if this was just a temporary thing, I wanted to bask under it. Once the trials were over, I would disappear from here forever. I wondered if I should tell him about Laura’s call with her father.
Carefully, I pried his arm from me and got out of the bed. The Luna trial candidates were supposed to congregate in the conference hall where the next trial was to be announced. Quickly, I took a bath, changed into a yellow sundress and hurried to the conference room, leaving him still sleeping on my
bed.
“There she is!” Someone snickered as soon as I walked into the conference room. I snapped my head only to see Daisy and her friends standing in a group, and glaring at me like I had just threatened to snuff their life. Rolling my eyes, I walked toward the edge of the room–my favorite place because it hid me well from the eyes of the predators. That reminded me of Damon. I scanned the room to see if he was there, and to my utter disgust, he was. Standing at the far end of the room, he was talking to other Alphas. But his eyes fell on me and he lifted his lips in a smile as if to greet me. Another roll of eyes and I focused on those on the podium. This time along with Tamara, I also saw Luna Auren. Boy, she was the most mesmerizing woman I’d ever seen. Beautiful, elegant and had an unmistakable aura.
“How much do you want?” a voice broke my thoughts.
I turned my head only to see Daisy and her friends have come to stand near me. “What?” I asked, unable to understand what she wanted.
“I’m asking how much do you want?”
I blinked. “Want what?”
“Money,” she said. “How much will it take to get you out of here?”
I felt like someone had poured ice water over my head. I stared at her incredulously. My eyes went to her group of three friends, all of whom were looking

Wow. For a human I had a great growl. Eyes in the room snapped toward us, but I maintained my confident stance. Daisy and her friends left in a huff but not before sending that glare at me which said that this wasn’t over. From the periphery of my vision, I saw Alpha Bradley leaning against the door of the room, watching
