I couldn’t seem to stay away from him. The ache that tugged at the center of my heart was increasing by the day. It felt like my choice to stay away from Brad never existed. Within two weeks he had become my anchor.

But I also knew that he was a dream. Our interaction was temporary. He would never make me his Luna. By now I had come to know that he was the strongest Alpha in the North, just like his father. Probably stronger because he was the son of mated wolves. Whatever was between us would break the moment the trials were over. And then I would escape.

Honestly, my mind was in such turmoil that I had no idea of what was happening. When I was around him, I was so happy and satisfied, and when he wasn’t there, misery became me. I hadn’t slept well in the last few days, but last night I slept like a log. From the looks of it, even Brad slept deeply.

But his eyes fell on me and he lifted his lips in a smile as if to greet me. Another roll of eyes and I focused on those on the podium. This time along with Tamara, I also saw Luna Auren. Boy, she was the most mesmerizing woman I’d ever seen. Beautiful, elegant and had an unmistakable aura.
