Aaron picked up his phone, feeling as if a thorn had pricked his heart. "Well, you'll be disappointed then. I promise you, I will finish this candlelight dinner with you tonight."

Aaron's eyes narrowed. "I understand. I'll be there right away."

He quickly put down the phone. "Cynthia's life is in danger. We can't take risks with a human life!"
