Chapter 394

"S..." Conner's greeting of "Sienna" caught in his throat, silenced by the sight of Josiah rushing forward to shield Sienna. His eyes glared at Conner, simmering with barely contained anger.

"What are you doing here?" Josiah asked.

"Huh?" Conner responded and glanced at Sienna, a sudden smirk twisting his lips. "Is it any of your business?" he asked.

"Stay away from her," Josiah growled, his fury growing as he watched Conner's smirk. "Because of you, Sienna ended up in the hospital with a head injury! Haven't you hurt her enough?" Josiah continued.

Hearing that, Conner's brow furrowed. "That's between Sienna and me. I'm here to see her," he said.

Reyna had called him earlier, creating a scene over the phone. Only then did Conner learn what had happened, and he rushed to Sienna's side immediately, ignoring Reyna's tantrum.

Josiah kept Sienna firmly behind him and said, "There's nothing to see. With me here, don't even think about getting close to her!"

Conner was momentarily stunned before raising an eyebrow mockingly. He said, "Oh, Mr. Flynn, what right do you have to stop me? You're just a pathetic ex- husband. You have no claim to her now."

His words struck a nerve with Josiah. Josiah's body tensed, his hands clenching into fists.

Sienna sensed trouble and hurriedly grabbed his arm, saying, "Josiah, don't do anything rash."

Josiah was surprised, a trace of disbelief flashing in his eyes. He asked, "What do you think I'm going to do?"

"Don't hit him." The words tumbled out before Sienna had time to think. She had witnessed Josiah's violent side firsthand.

"Did I hit him?" Josiah asked. Feeling a pang in his heart, he smiled humorlessly and continued, "Even if I did, would you still protect him?"

Sienna lifted her chin and answered firmly, "Yes!"

Josiah was incredulous. He said, "Sienna, he was the one..."

"That's between him and me. I can handle it myself," Sienna interrupted. She was getting desperate; she was terrified that Josiah would lose control. She frantically signaled to Conner and said, "Conner, you go in first."
