Chapter 1741:

“Rhys, you’re being childish.”

Harlee rested her chin on her hand, observing him intently, seemingly more fascinated by him than the meal before her.

“I’m not old to begin with,” Rhys retorted effortlessly.

Previously, when Harlee had offhandedly mentioned “someone your age” while they were in bed, Rhys had nearly confined her there for three days. She learned not to make such remarks about his age again, quietly accepting the food he served and eating without further comment. Their conversation shifted to discussing the evening’s dishes.

Later, at the hotel, as Rhys took a shower, Harlee sipped red wine alone at the bar. When the sound of water ceased, she made her way to the room.

The bathroom door swung open just as Harlee approached. Rhys emerged from the bathroom wrapped in a towel, covering only what was necessary, just as he always did. It was clear he was resorting to his usual seduction tactics again. Caught off guard, Harlee’s hand instinctively touched Rhys’s abdomen, her gaze playful.
