Chapter 0579

Suzy's words left no room for negotiation-sticking around would only make Dylan seemn shameless.

In the past, he never would have tolerated such humiliation. But now....

The woman he loved was on the verge of being taken by someone else. What was pride compared to that? Pride meant nothing when weighed against losing her.

Instead of leaving, Dylan rolled up his sleeve to reveal his bruised and swollen arm. "I wouldn't stoop so low as to fake an injury to deceive you."

Suzy glanced at the bruises, her expression unmoved. "It's just a fall. It's hardly life-threatening."

Though he had indeed fallen, the severity of his injury was nowhere near the dire picture Desmond had painted over the phone.

No matter the reason, Dylan had still lied to her. And if there was one thing Suzy hated above all else, it was being lied to.

She also wanted to make it clear that once he threw away the chances she gave him, there would be no getting them back.

Dylan could feel her coldness like a blade, sharp and unrelenting. He knew she was doing it on purpose, but that didn't make it hurt any less.

He opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but no words came to mind. In the end, all he could do was mutter one last thing as she dismissed him again. "I know you're angry with me. I was wrong before. I didn't appreciate what I had. But I won't make that mistake again."

With that, he gave Desmond a look, signaling him to push the wheelchair.

Dylan left, Elliot let out a nervous gulp. "Mentor, I'm feeling much better now. If you have something else to
