Chapter 0694

"Forget it, just go. I'll call Desmond later. If he's not available, I'll manage on my own. Even if the weather's freezing and I catch a cold, so be it."

Suzy chuckled. "Dylan, I'm curious-who taught you this art of emotional manipulation? You never used to be like this. Did you hire a private tutor?"

"Are you saying I'm deliberately pretending to be pitiful in front of you?" Dylan's lips curved into a bitter smile.

"Would it even work? Would you pity me?"

Not waiting for her response, Dylan continued, "You wouldn't. If you did, you wouldn't have found another woman for me when I was drugged.

"Knowing full well that you'd never pity me, why would I waste my time doing something so pointless?"

Suzy smiled faintly. "Since you already know it's pointless, stop wasting your energy. Whether you change your pants yourself, call Desmond, or find someone else, it's entirely up to you.

"Let me make this clear one last time, Dylan: there's no chance for us. Like you just said, if I wanted to get back together with you, I wouldn't have found another woman for you that night.

"That should've made my stance crystal clear, so stop wasting both our time." With that, Suzy turned and left without a second thought.
