sense.

It was all a ploy to draw Suzy away from Dylan's side.

Why else would they do something so drastic, knowing full well she would have someone tailing her father?

At first, Suzy thought it was meant as a warning, but now she realized the true target was Dylan.

The realization hit her like a thunderclap.

Without a moment to spare, Suzy sprinted out of the hospital, rushing back to the Wright Corporation as quickly as she could.

When she arrived, the door to the CEO's office was locked.

She knocked several times, but there was no response. Each second of silence tightened the knot of anxiety in her chest.

The lock on the office door was a custom security design, nearly impossible to breach without the right tools.

Desperate, Suzy instructed Dylan's assistant to get the security team and retrieve the spare key.

Thankfully, the security team had a backup. Once the door was unlocked, Suzy rushed inside, only to find the office empty.

Panic gripped her. Dylan was nowhere to be seen. The worst-case scenario loomed large in her mind—something had happened to him.

Though her rational side told her it might already be too late, as long as she hadn't seen him hurt or worse, a sliver of hope remained.

She clung to the thought that maybe, just maybe, she was overreacting.
