As Lydia's gaze swept over the room, her smile faltered when her eyes landed on someone unexpected.

Eugene had just reached the reception desk with a group of people, but suddenly stopped, his piercing gaze locking onto hers.

Her heart began to race, and she quickly looked away.

"Miss Lydia, are you okay?" someone beside her asked, noticing the sudden change in her expression.

She forced a weak smile and shook her head. "I'm fine, let's keep moving."

But on the way back, she couldn't shake the unsettling image of Eugene from her mind. It played on a loop, dragging her into a spiral of growing unease.
