As Karina listened to Fiona's story, an image of the woman with a child she had seen before flashed through her mind.

But she quickly dismissed the thought. It didn't seem possible.

The next moment, Fiona leaned in conspiratorially, her voice low and full of intrigue. "Honestly, I didn't believe it either. I mean, the director isn't that kind of man. But I saw it with my own eyes!" Karina, unnerved by Fiona's excitement, asked warily, "Saw what?"

"A love child!"

"That's impossible. The director doesn't have a love child. You must have seen wrong," Karina said firmly, instinctively wanting to defend Wilfred's reputation.

As far as she knew, Wilfred didn't even have a romantic partner, let alone a child.

But Fiona wasn't backing down. Sensing Karina's skepticism, she upped the ante. "If you don't believe me, come see for yourself."

Before Karina could decline, Fiona dragged her off to investigate.

"There! Look over there. I wasn't lying, was I? I saw that kid with the director this morning. And now there's a woman too. Do you think she's his wife?"
