Seeing the hurt and frustration in Theodore's eyes, Rosalie was momentarily confused. For a second, she wondered if she had misunderstood Theodore.

He looked so innocent, even desperate-like the despair she had felt when Theodore misunderstood her before. Back then, no matter how much she insisted on the truth, Theodore wouldn't believe her. He only believed Cynthia, because she knew how to play the victim.

But very quickly, Rosalie grew angry at herself for even entertaining such a thought. Theodore had lied to her too many times.

And after all, the one involved here was Cynthia, someone who could play the victim so well.

How could she think of Sebastian that way?

"I believe you," Rosalie said calmly.

Theodore was taken aback when he heard those three words. A flicker of disbelief flashed in his eyes as he stared at her, trying to find even a trace of trust in her gaze. Alas, what he heard was nothing more than an illusion.

In Rosalie's eyes, he saw only endless sarcasm and coldness. Though she had said, "I believe you," those three words hurt more than if she had told him she didn't believe him.
