My mother always seemed to forget that I was eighteen and didn't require adult supervision. I assumed she was more worried about me doing something she didn't approve of in her absence. I always imagined she thought the worst of me when she couldn't keep track of what I was doing.

"I know." My mother said seeming to be pleased with herself. "Why don't you take Jenny with you?" I could feel my heart start pounding with excitement. A weekend alone with Nate sounded perfect!

"I'd love to go!" Maybe I sounded too excited, but I couldn't help it. My mind was reeling in the possibilities.
