Chapter 20

She opted to leave a few minutes before the end of the game, in favor of fighting the crowd, and Kylan was all too happy to listen. Hand in hand once more, they walked out together. She stopped at the last hot dog cart before the mouth of the stadium and looked at Kylan curiously

"There's one last thing I think you should try today," she said thoughtfully. She let go of Kylan's hand, ordering a hot dog. The cashier funded her the hot dog wrapped in foil, and she walked to put on the condiments at the side of the cart. She threw on some ketchup and mustard, choosing to keep it simple for Kylan

She walked back over to her boss and held out the partially unwrapped hot dog. "One bite," she instructed.

Kylan glared at her, shaking his head. "Absolutely f*cking not," he responded seriously, continuing to walk out of the stadium without her

She rolled her eyes and walked after him. "It's tradition. . You can't come to a baseball game and not get a hot dog. It's simply not allowed," she tried to reason with him.

Kylan scoffed and stuffed his hands in his pockets. "I already tried that deplorable popcorn, and I kissed her. Not to ridiculous hat on my head. That's enough things that are out of my comfort zone," he grumbled.

She frowned at him, realizing he was probably right. He had done several things out of his comfort zone. She couldn't fault him for not wanting t try something else, too.

"You're right. I'm sorry, Kylan. Thank you for stepping out of your comfort zone today. I think the results will speak for themselves, though. I do think it will have all been worth it. She did her best to reassure him as she came to a stop near the curb of the road.

Kylan drafted and sent a text to Oscar, telling him they were ready for him to come to collect them. She began to wrap the hot dog back up and Kylan looked down at her. She smiled at him politely in return.
