Chapter 132

Kylan stepped into his office with a heavy heart, gathering a few essentials before heading back home. Katrina was recovering well; her bandages were off, and the bruises were fading, but the marks of her ordeal haunted him. Each glance at her healing wounds felt like a stab to his heart, a reminder of how he had failed to protect her. Clarence, their daughter, had been a source of joy, her laughter helping to dull the ache of guilt, but it wasn't enough to silence his inner turmoil.

With a long sigh, he packed a few documents into his bag, frustration bubbling beneath the surface. "I swore to protect them," he muttered to himself. "How could I let this happen?"

His thoughts were interrupted when Isabella walked into the room, her heels clicking softly against the floor. Her presence was unwelcome, but he kept his tone polite.

"Isabella, I don't need anything from you today. I'm just here to grab some things, then I'm heading home."

She smiled, but there was something unsettling in her gaze. "I understand, sir, but you must be so stressed. You've been through a lot lately."

Kylan didn't look up, brushing her off with a curt nod. "I'll manage. My focus is on my wife and daughter."

Undeterred, Isabella stepped behind him and placed her hands on his shoulders, beginning to massage them. "Maybe I can help you relax." Kylan tensed immediately and moved out of her reach. "What are you doing?"

She bit her lip, her voice dropping to a sultry tone. "Helping you, Kylan. You need someone who truly understands you, someone like me."

His chair scraped loudly against the floor as he shot to his feet, fury rising. "This is completely inappropriate. Step back, now."

Her boldness escalated as she unbuttoned her coat, revealing green lingerie. "I saw you," she whispered, her voice dripping with a twisted confidence. "You and Katrina, here in this office. I knew you were thinking of me the whole time. I see the way you look at me, Kylan. You love me. Crave me."

His stomach turned. "You spied on me and my wife?"

She stepped closer, ignoring his revulsion. "I wanted to give you what she couldn't."

Kylan shoved her back, his voice like ice. "Don't touch me. I love my wife, not you. I've never loved you. This ends now."

Isabella stumbled but quickly regained her footing, her expression twisting into a grotesque mix of heartbreak and anger. "You're lying! You've been denying your feelings for me, but I know you want me. I've done everything for you!"

He was done. Pulling out his phone, he dialed Ryan. "Get to my office immediately," he barked. Turning back to Isabella, his voice was sharp. "You're fired. Get out."

Her eyes widened in disbelief. "F-fired?"

"That's right. Pack your things and leave."

Her composure shattered, and she clutched her coat to her chest. Then, she began to laugh, a chilling sound that sent a shiver down his spine. "Perfect. If I'm not working here, there's nothing to stop us from being together." Kylan glared at her, his anger barely restrained. "You're delusional."

"No, you're blind!" she screamed, tears streaming down her face. "I did everything for you, Kylan! I made Katrina think you called her fat. I spread rumors about an affair. I even sent Dexter after her, hoping she'd leave you. I orchestrated everything to make her miserable!" His blood boiled as her confession sank in. "Did you... hire someone to hurt my wife?" His voice was low and dangerous, each word a promise of retribution.

Isabella froze, fear flickering in her eyes. "I... I... I did it for you!"

He slammed his fists on the desk, making her jump. "Answer me! Did you hire that man?"

She backed away, clutching her coat as if it could shield her. "Kylan, please... I love you."
