Chapter 37 The Identical Ring
Betty finally realized that Jeffrey did not know that she and Kerwin were married. He seemed to think that she had an affair with Kerwin, so he misunderstood that Kerwin was the rich guy she had
landed.
Suddenly, Betty was more disappointed in Jeffrey.
Jeffrey, what kind of woman am I in your eyes? As long as a rich man is close to me, you will think of
me in this way.
In fact, Betty could understand why Jeffrey thought so. In his mind, she was like a prostitute who could sell her body for money. He wouldn’t believe that she was Kerwin’s wife.
“Betty…” Jeffrey was furious. “Answer my question!” he ordered.
Betty took a moment to react to what he was saying.
She slowly raised her eyes to look at him. “Whatever you think of me, I don’t care,” said she calmly.
Then she broke away from Jeffrey’s hand and turned away.
The moment she turned around, Betty realized something.
Her first love, the only person she had ever loved with all her heart and soul, was no longer the person he used to be. As early as two years ago, he was no longer the person she loved.
For the next two days, Betty forced herself to focus on her work, so she was not in the mood to think about the trouble that Kerwin and Jeffrey had caused her.
Kerwin never came home. He neither texted her nor called her. Betty somehow felt lonely when she
returned to the empty house each day.
It was a scary thing to adapt to being alone. In less than a month, she was already uncomfortable without Kerwin in her life.
One morning, as soon as Betty entered the office, she saw several of her female colleagues

gathering in front of the computer.
“You’re all early this morning,” she walked over and said casually.
In the past, everyone ate breakfast in the water cooler at this time.
“Yeah!” Sarah cupped her face, staring at the computer screen. “There is a super cute guy. It’s such a delightful thing to watch him.”
“A super cute guy?”
“Mr. Martin, the president of Tylman Group. We have interviewed him before. He is attending the
award ceremony in Millland today. It’s live right now!”
Betty was stunned. They gathered early in the morning to watch her husband, who she didn’t know where he went.
Betty was also curious, so she went over.
“What award ceremony?”
“Prominent Youths. It also has a well-known name, namely the richest bachelor of the year.” Sarah
teased.
“But Mr. Martin is married,” she added.
Betty fixed her eyes on the computer screen.
Kerwin slowly pushed his wheelchair onto the lavish stage amidst loud applause. His sharp suit outlined his long figure. Although he was in a wheelchair, people could feel the powerful aura from the way he acted.
“Congratulations, Mr. Martin,” said the host, who was blond and blue-eyed, handed him the crystal trophy excitedly.
“Thank you,” Kerwin took it and said in a low voice. “It’s my great honor to have this award.”
When Kerwin took the trophy, the host’s eyes fell on his fingers. She immediately exclaimed in a very exaggerated way, “Oh my God, Mr. Martin, is this your wedding ring?”
The camera immediately gave Kerwin’s finger a close-up, and the diamond ring that Betty bought for him immediately appeared on the screen in a magnified form.
That gave Betty a start. She quietly hid her hand with the identical ring behind her back.
The host was excited. “Mr. Martin, so you’re already married. Many girls will be heartbroken
because of this.”
“Mr. Martin, your ring doesn’t look that special,” said the host in a jokingly tone.
Soon what the host said drew a laugh from the audience.
Betty’s cheeks burned slightly. She had already said that this ring did not fit his status, but Kerwin still wore it on his hand.
Kerwin acted calmly in response to everyone’s surprise and laughter. He glanced at his ring, then
smiled lightly. “My wife chose this for me. She has always been frugal.”
His simple words gave people a sense of how much he adored his wife. The people in the room instantly fell silent
Betty, sitting in front of the computer screen, instantly felt her heart skip a beat.
Although she kept telling herself that what Kerwin said was just a pleasantry, her heart was
touched slightly.
