"You didn't have to do that," Fiona said as Elijah locked the door behind him, the sound echoing in the charged silence. She turned to face him, her gaze a turbulent mix of confusion and concern. "You just put yourself in huge trouble." Her mind raced back to the King's words, a warning ringing loudly in her ears.
