Bailey was the last person I wanted to see right now, but I knew I had to swallow

my annoyance. She had been the first to pinpoint Thane’s abnormalities; she told me earlier that being with him would be dangerous; she had tried explaining to me that things would only get worse and soon I wouldn’t be safe with him, but hadn’t been willing to listen; I had believed that she said all those things to scare me into passing the title to her.

She knew more about this than she was letting out.
