Kaida remained at the very edge of the bed, the sheet wrapped tightly around her body. She was still very much alert. It was clear she didn’t trust me; neither did she like to be placed in such a vulnerable position.

Trose in the early hours of the morning, doing my best not to wake her. I got dressed, giving her one last glance before leaving the room.

I headed down to the dungeons to where the rogue had been kept; I needed to return his body to Grayson for whatever ritual they did with their dead.
