It was already late at night. I'd spent the hours patrolling alongside Alexander. Well, we'd done a little more than just patrolling.

A slow smile curled my lips at the memory of Alexander taking me right there on the hard forest ground.

"We're supposed to be watching over the pack borders," I'd reminded him as he kissed me.

I now had dirt, crumpled leaves, and a few stubborn twigs tangled in my hair. Alexander didn't look much better, but he still managed to pull off that rough, roguish charm that made my stomach flutter.

We walked to our apartment together, stopping in front of the door.
