Amanda could feel Abbott’s glance. She looked back and explained, “My friend.”

Amanda scratched her hair and answered honestly, “Male.”

Closing the door, Amanda answered frankly, “Yeah.”

Amanda rubbed her forehead and realized that he had overthought.
