“Caden, Richard will be alright,” I said softly, squeezing Caden’s hand to comfort him. “We’ll get back as soon as possible, and no matter what trouble Eclipse Pack is facing, we’ll face it together.”

“Mhm,” Caden replied with a simple syllable, his eyes meeting mine with a deep, affectionate gaze.

“Grandpa, tell the captain to speed up,” I urged.

I knew Caden’s calm exterior masked a heart full of worry and urgency. I felt the same; the longing to return was overwhelming.

Richard had always been kind to me. If something happened to him, I would be just as devastated as Caden.

“Worrying won’t solve anything right now. Come inside and rest a bit. Even at full speed, it’ll take at least three days to get there,” Grandpa advised, trying to soothe us.

After a few more days at sea, we finally arrived in Rivemon.

At the port, Grandpa saw us off, offering a final piece of advice: “I’m heading back to Frostmoore, but be careful. If things get out of hand, contact me immediately.”

“Take care, Grandpa,” I said, feeling a pang of reluctance but knowing there were more pressing matters at hand.

As Grandpa’s yacht disappeared from view, my eyes grew misty.

“Rosaline, after we handle things here, I’ll go with you to see Hubert,” Caden’s clear, soothing voice brought me back to the present.
