Chapter 351 Escaping Death
Rosaline’s POV:
+8 Pearls
At the foot of Everburn Hill’s cliff, towering trees loomed overhead, their leafy canopies blocking sunlight from reaching the forest floor, which was blanketed in lush grass. Yet, one area stood out–a chaotic mix of snapped branches, knotted weeds, and crumpled leaves disrupted the natural order.
A pained groan slipped from my lips as I jolted awake from a disturbing dream.
My eyes fluttered open, and I glanced around, disoriented.
Shadowy foliage surrounded me, the thick undergrowth buzzing with the distant cries of unfamiliar
creatures.
Pressing my hands to my forehead, I focused as fragmented memories gradually pieced themselves back together.
The memories came rushing back–Candice had taken Yura as a hostage, forced me into a deadly standoff with a bomb, and then leaped off the cliff, dragging me down with her.
At the brink of death, Caden had thrown himself after me without a second thought.
Somewhere in the freefall, my terror overwhelmed me, and I blacked out.
Yet one thing remained clear–Caden’s arms had been wrapped around me, holding me close.
But how had I managed to survive a fall from such a height?
And Caden?
Panic surged through me as I frantically scanned my surroundings, only to find him lying motionless beside me.
Scratches from broken branches had left his face streaked with blood, his legs were twisted, and his complexion was ghostly pale. His eyes remained shut, his entire body soaked in blood–a sight that sent a chill down my spine.
Dread settled heavily in my chest.
Meanwhile, I had escaped with nothing more than a few minor cuts.
