Jasper’s injuries were almost completely healed now. During the time I had been caring for him, the werewolf doctor had visited regularly to check on his progress.

“Mr. Sullivan’s injuries are no longer serious,” the doctor stated. “He can return to light work, but he should avoid overexertion for a while longer.”

Upon hearing the news, Jasper lit up with a real, genuine smile.

I let out a relieved breath and nodded, smiling back. “Alright, doctor, I’ll make sure he takes it easy.”

With that, I followed the doctor out of the room to finalize the discharge process. Jasper’s release had already been picked up by several media outlets.

A crowd of reporters had gathered outside the hospital, eager for any news. The moment Jasper and I stepped outside, they surged toward us, blinding us with their camera flashes as they snapped close–up photos.

I did my best to avoid their questions, and fortunately, there weren’t as many reporters this time as there had been during our previous outing. Jasper and I were able to get into the car and head back to the filming location without much hassle.
