Chapter 32

All eyes turned toward Ales when he spoke

The old lady suddenly paused and glanced at Sarah’s wrist. “Sarah, where’s your bracelet?”

At her words, everyone, including Arnold, looked at Sarah’s hand.

When she married Arnold, they hadn’t exchanged wedding rings. The only symbol of their bond was a wolf tooth bracelet.

According to tradition, after wolves courted under the full moon and solidified their relationship, the husband would give his wife a wolf tooth as a token.

Sarah had cherished the bracelet deeply, treating it as a part of herself and never wanting to take it off–even though Arnold never wore anything symbolizing their relationship.

But now, the bracelet was missing from her wrist.

Everyone found it strange; they were used to seeing it on Sarah no matter the occasion.

Sarah instinctively touched her wrist and replied casually, “I took it off in the shower and forgot to put it back on.”

The truth, however, was different. She had removed the bracelet while preparing the divorce papers and placed it inside the envelope with the documents.

For now, she and Arnold hadn’t officially parted ways.

She knew the old lady would strongly oppose the divorce, and if she insisted, it might anger the elder and endanger her health-

So, Sarah chose to keep the truth to herself during the feast.

The old lady smiled, seemingly reassured. “Oh, I see.”
