Susanna clutched the collar of her hoodie, awkwardly turning away. "I was actually planning to go see my mom at Black Gate today."

She was really shaken up after what Hull had put her through.

If she had to get into a fight right now, the first thing she'd notice was how much her legs hurt.

All Yvonne had been teaching her these past weeks was basically how to run for her life.

And now, thanks to Hull, her legs felt like someone else's. If she had to make a run for it, there was no way she'd get away.

She'd have to stand her ground and fight.

When Susanna mentioned visiting her mom at Black Gate, Hull's expression shifted for a split second.

"You're heading to Black Gate?" he asked.

Susanna nodded. "Yeah."

Why had she started training with Yvonne in the first place? It was all because she wanted to go back to Black Gate and help her mom.

After twenty brutal days by Yvonne's side, Susanna realized she wasn't as afraid of the chaos swirling around her mom anymore.

The worst thing in a suffocating situation? Fear.

Somehow, in just those few weeks, Yvonne had managed to knock that fear right out of her.

Now, all that was left was to dive in and see what she could pull off.

Hull frowned, pouring her a glass of milk and handing it over. "You shouldn't go to Black Gate just yet."

"Huh?"

Hull explained, "I've already sent some of my people to help your mom. Things are under control there now-your mom's in a strong position."
