The car came to a stop outside the restaurant. Athena was the first to get out, striding inside with her head held high. As she disappeared through the door, a waiter approached Tyler.

Turns out, Tyler had already made a reservation.

They sat down, Athena turning away to gaze out the window at the lush greenery outside, her expression distant. Tyler, on the other hand, couldn't take his eyes off her. His voice dripped with sarcasm as he spoke. "What's wrong? Now that the mole's gone, you can't even bring yourself to look at me?"

Athena found him insufferable. If he knew the truth, why couldn't he just keep it to himself? No need to say it out loud and make things even more awkward.

But subtlety had never been Tyler's style; he kept needling her, his tone sharp.

"I saw your old photos with Kerwin at your high school. Honestly, he wasn't much to look at.”

As soon as the words left his mouth, he felt Athena's mood turn glacial.

His chest tightened, but instead of stopping, he twisted the knife deeper.

"If you loved her so much, why not go after him? Why hide out here? Wait—don't tell me he's married? Is that it? How sad. Does he even know you've been waiting for him all these years?"

Before he could go any further, the waiter returned with two cups of coffee.

Athena picked up her cup and, without a word, hurled the coffee right at Tyler.
