Tyler was still clinging to Fitch's arm and mumbling nonstop when they dropped him off at home.

Every time Fitch tried to shrug him off, Tyler would latch right back on.

"Athena..."

"I just don't get it. Why do you keep seeing me as some kind of stand-in? If you like Kerwin so much, why don't you just go after him? Why not just be with him?”

“So I'm just supposed to let you play me for a fool, huh?”

Fitch was sorely tempted to leave this drunken mess right there on the front steps-what an embarrassment.

When they finally managed to get Tyler inside, he just lay there on the living room couch, staring blankly up at the ceiling.

Fitch told the housekeeper to keep an eye on him and made a quick exit—he had zero interest in babysitting a drunk.

But it hadn't even been that long before Tyler stumbled up from the couch, grabbed his car keys, and headed out the door.

Athena could hardly believe it when she got the call from the police station. They wanted her to come pick someone up-apparently, Tyler had been caught driving under the influence.

“Ms. Zade? We need you to come collect your friend. Drunk driving is very dangerous,” the officer told her patiently.

"Isn't there anyone else you can contact?" she asked, pinching the bridge of her nose.

"He asked for you specifically. Said if anyone else came, he wouldn't go with them.”
