Chapter 135

Audrey’s POV

“Well, Miss Sinclair? Isn’t this fulfilling one of your wishes?” Laurel’s lips curved into a smirk as she twirled in her light blue diamond–studded gown..

I glanced up, ignoring her attempt to get under my skin. “I don’t have such wishes.”

The diamonds on Laurel’s dress caught the boutique’s lighting, sending tiny sparkles across the walls. I noticed how the blue fabric would complement several jewelry pieces from our studio’s collection.

“Are you wearing this tomorrow

Miss Rose?” I asked, keeping my tone businesslike.

Laurel turned toward the mirror, examining her reflection. She ran her hands over the glittering fabric, admiring how it hugged her figure.

“Blake darling,” she called out, “what do you think about this for tomorrow?”

“Too flashy,” Blake replied softly. “Not appropriate. Try something else.”

Disappointment flashed across Laurel’s face before she masked it with a smile. “Fine.” She pouted slightly, muttering about his lack of taste as she headed back to the changing room.

Thalia glanced at us. I’ll change too. This isn’t working. She followed Laurel, leaving Blake and met standing awkwardly in the center of the boutique.

I sighed, exhaustion settling in my bones. After a full day of revising designs, the last thing I needed was to babysit these women through endless outfit changes.

“I thought her dress was fine,” I said, hoping to speed things up?

Blake kept watching the direction where Laurel had disappeared. “Not suitable.”

Seriously, I didn’t understand his words. Wasn’t Laurel the star of tomorrow’s event? That dress would be perfect.

He turned to me. “You’re coming tomorrow too. Why not pick something to wear?”

I stared at him like he’d suggested I shave my head. “Why would I dress up?”

We’ve been divorced for days, and he’s already proposing to another woman. Now he wants his e there in fancy clothes? Is he missing brain cells?
