Chapter 637

Cassie was boiling with a mix of confusion and anger.

"Winston, what's gotten into you?" she snapped.

The moment Winston laid eyes on Cassie's face, his heart skipped a beat. The memory of his impulsive kiss flashed in his mind-the warmth of her lips and her alluring scent still lingered in his senses. His face turned beet red in an instant. Cassie noticed something was off with Winston. Instinctively, she reached out, placing a hand on his forehead, her voice tinged with concern, "Are you alright? Your face is as red as a tomato."

Winston jerked back as if avoiding a contagious virus. His expression turned downright ghastly. His voice was icy, "Cassie, let's not see each other unless it's absolutely necessary. And stop bothering me."

reminiscing about their childhood friendship. Initially, Winston had seemed normal, but lately, he had grown increasingly strange, now showing

from the apple tree she'd been perched in. Once on the ground, she shouted

words and felt as if a boulder was pressing on his chest, suffocating him. He prided himself on being able to see through

utterly exhausted. Watching Connor sleep peacefully beside her, she knew he had been working hard and keeping his struggles to himself. Earlier in bed, he had

the fourth floor. Sitting at the desk, she opened a drawer containing gan old cell phone-the one Ricky had used to settle things with Shawn. Isaac had fixed it ages ago, and it had arrived on the day of Linda and Lucas's wedding-a day packed with drama, followed by a long vigil at the

untouched until now.
