Chapter 1003

They wandered hand in hand through the bright, bustling world of Disneyland, weaving between spinning teacups and the sweet smell of caramel popcorn that filled the air.

The two kids marched ahead, little fingers locked together, while Chloe and Connor walked on either side, close but somehow careful. They looked exactly like a family of four-picture perfect, really. With those good genes, it was no wonder people kept glancing their way.

Out of nowhere, a talent scout materialized, eyeing them like he'd just struck gold. He greeted them in Japanese, all business and big smiles. "Hello, I'm with JOBBY KIDS. Your children are absolutely adorable-have you ever thought about signing with us? They could be the next big thing!"

Chloe barely blinked. She'd gotten used to this. Every time she took Aaron out, someone seemed to notice him. She turned down the offer gently, polite as always.

But the scout wasn't giving up. He pressed his business card into her hand before she could protest again. As he walked away, he grinned and said, "How about a family photo? My treat!"

Chloe almost explained-they weren't really a family. But before she could say anything, Connor spoke up. "Let's take one. It'll be a nice memory for Tim."

She didn't say no. Looking at Tim's sweet, innocent face, Chloe felt a dull ache deep inside, a tenderness she couldn't quite explain.
