Xena's POV

My hands were shaking. This was crazy. Opening the package, I sat down, peed on the test strip, then turned it over and put the cap on. My legs were trembling when I finished, and I washed my hands. Two minutes hadn't passed yet, but I was already out of patience. I quickly picked it up and flipped it over before I could convince myself not to look. There was one deep line and a second lighter line. After checking the box, this meant positive.

Positive. I was pregnant. Really pregnant. Oh my God, was this real? I stared at those two lines as if they would disappear. But they were still there, clear and real.

For a moment, countless emotions surged through me. Fear, excitement, overwhelm... but strangely, I wasn't afraid. Thinking about Ryder's reaction, thinking about how happy he would be, my heart was about to explode. We were going to have a baby. We were going to become parents.

My hand was trembling, one hand covering my mouth, the other holding the test.

Countless thoughts flashed through my mind. I wanted to surprise Ryder, but I didn't think I could keep this secret. Everything inside me was burning, wanting to run out and tell him. I wasn't even scared. Knowing he would be thrilled was the best thing I could ask for.

I should plan some special way to tell him, but I couldn't do it. I was never good at keeping secrets, especially secrets like this. I wanted to tell him right now and see the expression on his face.

I stuffed it in my pocket and walked toward Ryder. He was leaning against the railing, looking at the city below. "I was just about to come find you," he said, pulling me in front of him. His head rested against me, his arms wrapped around me, and we looked at the city together.
