Quintessa wasn't that she didn't want to protect Yolanda, but her capabilities fell short of that extent. Watching Yolanda suffer, she felt powerless, having dragged her into this quagmire without a clear way out. When Tyrone stepped in to help, Quintessa could finally breathe a sigh of relief. At least, she could give Yolanda some form of closure.
