Chapter 306

Fanny was stopped outside the office, causing a ripple of excitement among the onlookers.

People started gathering, eager to witness the drama.

Sylvia felt a blur of movement in front of her and, when she came to her senses, saw that Rupert was already striding purposefully toward where Bridget was.

As he walked, he shot a look at Orson-like he was giving him some silent instruction.

Orson was sharp and quick-a guy you'd want around if you thought someone might try to hurt Bridget.

Watching Rupert's retreating figure, Sylvia finally lost her strength and just collapsed onto the floor.

She sat there until the commotion ahead grew too loud to ignore. Swiping at her face, she stood up and made her way over.

Outside Chris's office, there was indeed a security alarm.

The minute Fanny got close, the alarm blared. She didn't even hesitate-she just barreled forward, only to be intercepted by the security guard.

"Get that tramp out here! How dare she try to steal my man!" Fanny screamed.

There was some noise from inside the office, which only made Fanny angrier. The security guard, clearly intimidated by her reputation, didn't dare get rough.

Sylvia stood at the edge of the crowd, watching with cold detachment.

Fanny, furious with the guard's interference, slapped him hard across the face.

"Who do you think you are? Do you even know who I am? If I wanted, I could make sure you and your whole family never work in this town again!"

"I'm sorry, Ms. Lance," the guard stammered.

Smack! Another slap landed, leaving the guard's face bright red.

Fanny was winding up for a third strike when the office door suddenly swung open.
