Chapter 460

The sudden kiss left Sylvia too stunned to fight back.

It wasn't until Rupert deepened the kiss that her senses snapped back. She didn't care that her hands were still covered in soapy bubbles-she raised a fist and swung.

But, infuriatingly, Rupert was always a step ahead. Before her hand could land,

his fingers wrapped around her wrist and pinned her arm behind her.

It forced her body closer, pressing her right up against his chest.

She glared up at him, meeting his gaze.

His eyelids were half-lowered, his eyes dark and unreadable, his lips harsh but tinged with longing.

Furious, Sylvia jerked free, twisting her wrist from his grip and shoving him away. Her nose stung. She took a deep breath to swallow down the ache in her throat. "Why do you always do whatever you want?" she demanded.

"Who's really doing whatever they want?" Rupert shot back coldly, twisting the signet ring on his finger. "You mess with me, and then what? Run off to mess with someone else?"

Sylvia couldn't win against him. Her voice was bitter. "Say whatever you want." She turned, ready to leave the kitchen.

But suddenly, a strong hand gripped the back of her neck, hauling her back and pinning her against the fridge.

Ignoring her struggles, Rupert cupped the back of her head and kissed her again, rough and possessive.

Sylvia twisted her face away, leaving his lips hovering beside her cheek.

His breath was hot and uneven against her ear, growing more heated by the second.
