“We know Ethan. Alice helped his family out. He might have married her because of Caroline, but he’s not heartless. Yeah, they might get a divorce, but he’ll compensate her. He wouldn’t want us insulting her, so you’d best be careful,” said Derek. He thought a lot before coming to that conclusion.

Chris nodded quickly. He thought Derek had a point. Ethan didn’t like Alice and only married her because of Caroline, but then Alice did help the Knights, so he would side with her a bit. That’s not love. That’s just gratitude. Ethan isn’t a heartless guy.

When Ethan came back home, he was greeted by silence. He went to the second floor, and not a sound was heard—not Caroline or Alice’s voice. Alice always spoke gently to Caroline. Ethan went back to his room only to find no one inside. Man, it’s like I’m not even married.

He loosened his necktie and unbuttoned his shirt, but halfway through, he stopped. This time, he came back with some special elixir made by Joseph. Joseph told him the elixir could wash away all disguise, no exceptions. All he had to do was rub the elixir over the disguise and wait for a minute.

He tried to meet up with her at Irvin’s place because he recognized her as the woman he met seven years ago through the way she waved her hand. She might have escaped, but he was sure she was the one who came down with Irvin. Even though she was in a man’s attire, her face was perfect and flawless.
