“Nah, I was just worried you’d fall victim to my mom’s unique taste So I’m just coming down to check on you!” Jonathan descended two steps, stopping before Estelle and looked her over. “My Ella, you’ve got this magical touch that turns the drab into fab!”

Downstairs, Catherine was still lingering about. Feeling her cheeks warm, Estelle sidestepped to head upstairs, “I’ve got classes to catch!”

She walked into Henson’s room, where he was deeply engrossed in his video game. He glanced up at Estelle and nearly launched his phone across the room in surprise.

His eyes went wide, “Everything okay with you?”

“Do I look weird or something?” Estelle asked, unflappable.

“It’s fine, I guess,” Henson said with a complex expression, “just feels a bit off, you know?”

Estelle set down her bag and nodded, “Yep!”
