The manager watched Carson and his companion walk away before turning and glaring at Cindy. “Are you out of your mind? Picking a fight with Mr. Foster’s lady?”

Cindy sobbed, “I didn’t! It’s not my fault!”

The manager frowned, “Even if it’s a misunderstanding, you just have to suck it up. You can’t clash with a guest, remember the hotel’s rules? Go back and redo your training, and consider your bonus for this month gone.”

Cindy’s tears flowed even more as she cursed the world for its unfairness, her resentment towards Marina growing.

Why did Marina have to be so lucky? Born into a wealthy family and even engaged to someone like Carson, who was as rich as he was handsome?

She had overheard in the private room that Carson and Marina were calling off their engagement, and Cindy had thought that Carson would despise Marina. But it turned out he was still protecting her!

Carson returned to the private room with Marina and after a few steps, heard her hiss in pain. He looked down to see several scratches on the back of her hand.

It must have happened during the scuffle with Cindy, who had managed to claw her in the struggle.

Carson’s brow furrowed, “Next time you decide to hit someone, make sure you protect yourself.”
