“Sure thing!” Estelle said, balancing the late-night snack box as she headed inside with the man walking beside
her. But then, Estelle’s ears picked up the murmur of men and women from the direction of the living room.
Without any change of expression, Estelle set down the snacks and turned to leave.
The man followed her to the door, quietly closing the door after she left.
Estelle continued up to deliver the midnight feasts. She didn’t encounter the person she was looking for, but she
wasn’t worried—it was only her first day!
Just as she was about to return to the ground floor, a fellow maid grabbed her arm and said in excitement, “No
more work for now, there’s an auction starting soon!”
The two women rode the elevator to the thirty-second floor and entered a bar.
Zion, desolate and empty by day, came alive at night with a cacophony of voices and a shimmer of opulence.

The bar was a melting pot of nationalities, everyone laughing and carousing. Their serious, scientific facades
were nowhere to be seen at this moment.

With each detail, the crowd cheered louder as if they were celebrating.
No one seemed to care that the girl on stage was crying.
The auctioneer announced the starting bid, and the figures began to climb.
