She left with enough money from him to live comfortably for the rest of her life, so why bother working so hard? “Absolutely!” Sylvia nodded, “After I got to J City, I decided to stay. I didn’t want to just idle away my days. I felt like I should do something meaningful, so I started a PR firm. To be honest, my initial idea was to use the wide range of information a PR firm has to possibly help you out. I didn’t expect it to actually do well.” Gabriel nodded in acknowledgment. The waiter came by with their meals, and the two paused their conversation to enjoy the food in silence. Midway through the meal, Sylvia looked up and asked, “You came to J City because of Estelle’s situation, right?” “Yes!” Gabriel confirmed with a nod, “I’m temporarily staying at Old Mr. Quintin’s place.” Understanding, Sylvia smiled and said, “I saw online that the tide has turned in favor of Estelle. The Crawley and Macclain families are finished. I didn’t expect J City to get snow too, but maybe I’ve gotten used to it. It doesn’t bother me as much now.” “People adapt,” Gabriel noted. Sylvia’s eyes dropped slightly as she turned back to watch the snow. Her black trench coat was layered under a brick-red overcoat, and a matching woolen scarf

Take off your coat, and I’ll pour you some water.” She bent down to find a pair of men’s slippers for him in the shoe cabinet, chuckling, “They’re new!” “For your boyfriend?” Gabriel asked. “I don’t have a boyfriend right now,” Sylvia shrugged, heading to the kitchen with a smile. As Gabriel entered, he glanced at the shoe cabinet out of habit before he changed into the slippers and walked into the living room. Although it was a single’s apartment, it was spacious and impeccably tidy, without any superfluous items except for a pink unicorn plush on the sofa. It was almost hard to tell a woman lived there.
