Chapter 2561

Eugene glanced over with a gentle smile. "If you're craving it, I'll bring you again. Next time, come a bit earlier so you can have dinner with Grandma."

"Sounds good!" Sylvia grinned, nodding.

She'd half-expected Eugene to bring up Grandma Winters' illness on the drive back, maybe even use it as an excuse to ask her to be with him right away. But he never mentioned it. He didn't try to guilt her or play any games. He just dropped her off at her place as if the thought hadn't even crossed his mind.

That warmed her, just a little. At least this man was earnest-he wasn't scheming to get what he wanted.

As she got out of the car, Sylvia smiled. “I had a really wonderful afternoon. Thank your grandma for me, will you?"

“No, I should be the one thanking you for her. She was so happy you came." Eugene laughed softly, stepping out of the car with her. "Get some rest tonight, okay? I can't always control how I feel, but I don't want to pressure you or make you feel burdened. Don't overthink things-just have sweet dreams."

Sylvia chuckled. "Alright. Drive safe!"

"I'll watch you go in."

She didn't argue, just waved and headed toward her building.

Once inside, Sylvia changed into something comfortable. When she went out onto the balcony to gather her laundry, she noticed Eugene's car still parked below.
