At the University of Maple Grove, the buzz about the upcoming medical competition sponsored by a prominent medical organization was already well-known. In the conference room, Dr. Ray adjusted his glasses and began addressing the matter of selecting participants.

Before he could finish, the door flew open. Alexa, drenched in sweat and panting heavily, stood at the entrance. "Dr. Ray, I'm so sorry I'm late!"

She had spent the entire night worrying about Hudson's request for her to ask Flora to treat him, resulting in a sleepless night. Her eyes were red, and her complexion paler than usual.

Dr. Ray, visibly annoyed by the interruption, shot a sharp glance at Alexa. "Stand by the door and listen!" he commanded sternly.

Knowing she was at fault, Alexa, though embarrassed, complied without a word. Her gaze, however, kept drifting towards Flora. Thinking about Hudson's request, her hand at her side clenched into a fist.

Dr. Ray continued, "We need six contestants in total. I've already chosen three-Shawn, Darcy, and Flora."

He glanced at Flora, relieved to see her listening attentively without any objection. He had feared she might refuse to participate.

"Three spots remain," he went on. "Those interested should submit an application. I'll select the most suitable candidates based on overall ability."

Darcy were acknowledged as the lab's top talents, their selection indisputable. And Flora, despite being a newcomer,
