"Evidence should be shown, not just talked about," Abbey sneered confidently. She was certain Flora couldn't produce any evidence. The original paper had already been dealt with by her. Flora would just have to swallow this loss. Flora squinted at her, lips parting as if to speak, but at that moment, the anxious voice of a staff member echoed from outside. "Mr. Howard..."

Abbey's eyelids twitched, and she quickly turned to look outside. Flora looked out as well.

Connor, dressed in a sharp black suit, led the way with Moss and Beck flanking him. A chilling aura surrounded him, growing more intense as he approached, putting pressure on everyone, making it hard to breathe.

Amanda's heart raced as she nervously watched him, knowing this was a sign of Connor's anger. Her son, when angry, was truly frightening.

"Connor..." Abbey murmured, but Connor didn't even glance at her. He walked straight past to stand in front of Flora.

"Connor," Flora said with a small smile. Connor raised his hand and gently ruffled her hair. The chilling, restless energy around him instantly dissipated, like a fierce tiger being soothed. The oppressive air lifted, leaving everyone feeling like they'd survived a great ordeal. Amanda was astounded. Just a word from Flora, and Connor calmed down. It seemed her son's affection for Flora ran deep. Her eyes shimmered, deep in thought.
