Ethan was watching Flora with a nervous intensity, worried she'd say no. They weren't exactly close, and he knew he didn't have the same charm as Kruz.

Flora raised an eyebrow, amused by the youthful energy of the group. "Still into team games, huh? That's pretty cool."

Ethan gave a quick rundown of the game, "Cyber Legion," where teams had to create their own firewalls and defend against attacks from others. It was similar to typical cybersecurity competitions-the team that breached the opponent's firewall first would win. Ethan's team wasn't doing so hot, often coming in last. There was a big all-server competition tonight, and if they lost again, the system might automatically disband their team.

After Kruz stopped talking, she kept her eyes on Flora, nervously twisting the hem of her shirt. Flora's silence made her heart sink.
