The phone rang for what seemed like ages before the person finally picked up, clearly reluctant to take Lydia's call. Still, out of politeness, they answered.

The moment the call connected, Lydia blurted out, "Did you see Rose today?"

A wave of jealousy washed over Lydia. She hadn't had the chance to meet Rose yet. If it weren't for Flora, she might have met her today.
