At this point, Erica's heavy bleeding was definitely a big red flag, and Fiona knew

it all too well. But there was no time for her to get lost in her thoughts.

With that, Fiona headed to the sterilization room, quickly swapped into a fresh set of scrubs, and dashed into the emergency room.

There, a lead surgeon and an OB-GYN were already working on Erica. Normally, this kind of procedure wouldn't need so many specialists, but Erica wasn't just anyone. This situation was tangled up with the Woods family's past and, more importantly, with Jackson. Fiona couldn't just sit on the sidelines.

She took a quick look and deftly inserted a few acupuncture needles to stop the bleeding. But Erica's will to live was barely there. Fiona could only do her best to keep Erica hanging on; ultimately, her fate was up to her.

"If someone doesn't want to live, no matter how hard others try to save them, it's all for nothing."

"I know you can hear me," Fiona said, her voice steady after placing the last needle. "You can feel the little life inside you slipping away. But is this really what you want?" Her words cut right to the chase. "Your parents are so overbearing, and you have a younger brother. You've done so much, yet your parents don't give a damn about you. They'll see you as useless, unable to make it in the Reynolds family. Is holding onto this flimsy bond even worth it?"
