Neither of them bothered about Jane's situation. They were too busy watching Fiona leave, eyes sparkling with admiration. Right then and there, they decided Fiona was their new idol.

"Fiona's word is gospel," one of them whispered in awe. "Whatever she says goes."

"Absolutely, even when she fights, she's unbeatable," another chimed in.

"Shut it, both of you!" Jane shouted from where she sat on the floor. A faint red mark was visible on her neck, and her face was flushed from struggling to breathe. She was drenched, filthy, and reeked of something unpleasant. Fiona had shoved her so hard that her stomach hit the corner of the desk, causing excruciating pain, and she'd banged her knees against the bed frame, making it nearly impossible to stand up.

That Fiona, Jane fumed internally, she's a real piece of work. If it weren't for her, I wouldn't be in this state.

A small crowd had gathered at the dorm entrance, the door wide open. Jane sat there, humiliated and stinking, the object of everyone's mockery.
