Chapter 1882

"Seriously, though-who are that woman and her kid with her? Fiona's causing trouble again. She just can't help herself, can she?"

The whispers drifted through the morning air, sharp and relentless. Fiona barely glanced up, her expression unreadable. One look was all she needed-she saw the disgust in their eyes, the same people who'd once begged her for self-defense lessons. Funny how quickly people turned. Fiona was used to it by now.

The boy started bawling, rolling on the ground for effect, while his mom stood there, acting like the queen of morality, pointing fingers and yelling at Fiona. Right at the school gates, they put on a full-blown show for everyone to see.

Jane's half-brother lunged at Fiona, but she didn't even bother to look at him. Calmly, she lifted her leg and kicked him square in the chest. He went flying, slammed into the steps, and the crack of teeth hitting stone echoed through the crowd.

"Fiona! You dare hit my son? Do you even know who I am? I swear, I'll make you pay!"

The woman stomped toward her, stopping just three steps away. Her eyes went wide—then, out of nowhere, she was thrown back, landing with a scream that echoed down the street.
